Does anyone have olive trees. I'm looking at putting in a bunch. I like the green but will eat the black ones too. I am looking at processing them to eat and also for the oil. We cook with it and it would make good fuel for bio diesel or lamp oil. I figure in a few years we will plenty. I'm going to plant 10 to 20 at our cabin and about the same amount here at home.

i don't here, but when i was out in Lindsay, Ca. there was a grove? orchard? a bunch of them. :D had the damnedest time keeping the ground squirrels at bay. the Black Widows where a problem too. as for planting them, good on you for thinking ahead. i can see the benefits of having them.

There are lots of olives in south Texas. I know a guy that has them south of San antonio. He had some further north near Austin and one year it hit 15* one day, and he lost a MILLION trees. They won't survive under 18* so it's way too risky unless you're near Mexico.
