I've been pretty tight-lipped about this due to some of the circumstances, but I had an interview yesterday for a maintenance position yesterday. Same employer, but better pay and better hours, so I have a chance of actually transferring
At the same time, I have been fairly mute, but HR asked me to do a plant tour (where I already work) on Tuesday. I have a good vibe on this, and I'm hoping to update the colony with some good news soon.

It will be a huge step forward in both personal and professional development.

Lol. I just reread that. Can you tell I am drunk in (premature) celebration?

That's great news, better jobs are always good. I've been up since 5:30am, and I'll be up until probably 8 or 9pm Saturday. I'm smoking 30lbs of brisket for my son's birthday party that's probably gonna be rained out tomorrow. I've had a few myself since my in-laws are about to get here. I'm mopping the brisket with a honey, southern comfort, brown sugar Apple juice.

Congrats on the opportunity, keep us posted!!

Several months ago I took a job change, it was a BIG cut in pay but big INCREASE in working conditions.

I am still however looking for a different job at a different place with at least equal pay but cheaper insurance. I pay almost $1,000 a month for family insurance now, if I could half that it would be the same as getting a BIG pay raise!

Thanks guys. I'll keep you posted now.

EB... Damn! That insurance cost is crazy, and is almost 2/3 of my current bring home for a month.

I know it's always upsetting when the in laws come to visit, but try an keep it together, and remember the Southern Comfort goes in you.

Still looking good. They are filling 5 positions and had 5 of us in today. We have to answer by day's end whether or not we're still interested. Of course I already replied that I am.

That's cool Mit.
Premature celebration is better than that other premature thing, if you know what I mean :)

A little whiskey isn't a waste if flavoring good food.

So where are the pics of that brisket.

This is just one of the briskets I did 26lbs total. I had to temporarily tarp over the smoker because of the expected weather that didn't amount to much, so the smoke in the tented area was unbearable and I couldn't get a good photo.

mitunnelrat
04-12-2015, 06:14 PM
chemical and water pumps, and some other machines designed to move and render drinking water safe that I'm not entirely familiar with yet. Valves, shaft drives... there's actuly a wide variety needed here and all I know is I'll be starting out with a grease gun mostly. Works for me
