I ran across a new website yesterday I thought I would share

FireSteel.com FireSteels (http://www.firesteels.com)

They have several different types of firesteels and other related goodies. I found 2-3 things I beleive I may have to have.

those prices are pretty good

I have been carrying one of these Boy Scout Firesteels (http://www.scoutstuff.org/hot-spark-fire-starter.html) for 40+ years. $2.99ish +s/h. fits nicely on my key chain

Mine is still going strong, just a little worn down

I'm a sucker for firestarting goodies. I thought they had a decent variety. Some of them look decent.

I put the handle on this one. Its magnesium on the bottom.

I have a few different starters. I really like the Blastmatch the best though. (its a good idea to carry the magnesium blocks with you also for easier lighting)

I agree LB the blast match is the best i've tried so far( haven't pick up one from firesteels yet). The mag bar sure helps to.

hehehe... im not the only resident pyro then? :D

I've got one of the flint&steel/magnesium bar combos with a scraper... goes everywhere i can take it... pretty reliable method to start a fire... However, may have to save up some to get a few goodies off this site... :D

No, you're not the only pyro, if there's fire involved, I'm interested.
The only bad thing about such items as the Strikeforce and Blastmatch are that the firestarting metal is slightly different, and can go bad over time. At least this is what a friend who is into survival has told me. I've had one of the Strikeforces about 10 yrs, and it still works fine.
