The use of potassium iodide tablets to protect against thyrod problems from SOME nuclear disasters is fairly well documented, particularly in the aftermath of Chernobyl. Relative cheap and easily purchased they can be easily found in many online stores. One bit of info that I have not been able to find (to be honest I have not researched it deeply) is the dosage for children.

Anyone know what the dosage would be for children? Is it based upon weight or age?

Weight. For infants disolve a tablet in water and mix the resulting liquid in food. It;s quite bitter.
