I would have to dig pretty deep to validate the map, until then it's entertaining and coincidental...

Yeah, I kind of doubt the numbers. The government can't know how many guns I got, and for this to be true lots of people in Texas would have to not have guns. Even if 1/4 of Texans owned guns these numbers would be wrong. Everyone I know that has guns (I don't know anyone that does not) has more than 4.

probably the stupidest comparison that's been done in a while ... the US is unique in the world when it comes to the 2A Right ....

Yeah, there is no way Germany has the same number of guns as Texas. I spent 2 years in Germany, and only met a few Germans that had guns. I been in Texas 13 years and have never met a Texan that did not own at least one gun. Just between me and a few my friends offset over 100 others that don't have guns.

It's crap! Canada didn't even make the list! I demand a re-count!

Odds are the parties in question are using the declassified portions of the 2000 and 2010 Censuses and available data on number of FF 4473s. A fallacy, as the present 4473 allows for up to five weapons to be purchased on one form, up from the three of years past (2011, I think... not sure).

Being compared to Finland aint all bad. Recall that they have the modern era's arguably most prolific and proficient sniper, in the person of the late Simoon Hayaa (sp?).

MAYBE if you counted police, military, and private ownership, but still only a maybe.

Yeah, but we have police also. Plus texas national guard, texas air guard, and so on and so on. Heck if counting military we have Fort Hood. That should be at least 100k firearms.

they're probably counting the hundreds of seacans full of guns and ammo from after WWII. Anyone need a Nagant?

In just 2012 in just Texas 11,724,997 nics background checks where run. Lets assume that only 10 million ended in a sale. And lets assume every nics only 1 gun was sold. Some we know more than one was sold. That would put just one year 2012 over 10 million guns where sold to just civilians without concealed weapons licenses. CCW's do not do background checks. Germany only has 80 million people total. I would be willing to be large sums of money this info is not accurate.

They be must be counting the hunting rifles in there and there are a lot in Europe, not counting the guns from the last war that were not declared and still hiding in a lot of places.

Still, no way Germany has more hunting rifles than Texas. According to this Germany has 30.3 guns per 100 people and the U.S. has 112.6 per 100 people. This I can believe.

We get tourists in my store from Europe and Australia. When they see the guns I sell, they almost uniformly say, "We don't have this back home."

SO I can easily beleive we have most countries out-gunned.

I let an Irish guy fire my AK at the range one day, and I'm pretty sure he decided right then to become an American. Lol
