I bought another trailer tonight. A 6.5' x 10' utility trailer this time.

This thing is a beast. LED lights integrated with the frame, Tubular rails, and a gate easily twice as thick as the other trailers I've looked at. The possibilities are now endless, and I'm now only two trailers away (enclosed and dump, respectively) from having a well rounded fleet.

Is this a new addiction? I can't seem to live with just one...

Nice!

There are worse things to be addicted to.

What is the load rating? Intended uses?

I'll get back to you on the load rating. I already forgot it. But it's gonna see fire wood, stone, mulch, a riding lawn mower. Hopefully never a motorcycle. Whatever else I feel a need to abuse it and my truck with.

drill some holes in the uprights and then you can bolt strips of plywood in place and make a bucket for sand/gravel.

I really should take my lawnmower out for more drives... it likes them so!

Lol. The lawnmower is only gonna ride when I buy one or at the end of the cutting season when it goes to the car wash.

ETA: chances are I'll go to the local metal fab guy and have him weld sides in.

Make the sides removable, and wood - lighter, and your GVWR is probably 3500 on that single-axle trailer...So you want to maximize the load.

But flatbeds are really handy, for all sorts of things.

It's nice to have something like that, you would be surprised how much it gets used. I have one very similar but it does not have a spare tire. That is the one thing it should have it a spare. I am like you I think the load rating is about 1,000 pounds but I have to double check to make sure. Good acquisition

I would love to have one of those..or really anything similar to it. Sadly I live in a community that dont like trailers out front. And there is no where else I can park it with out paying for it.

Awesome buy, it looks like a well built beast :)

Vodin,

Get yourself one of these to park out front, and then just tuck the trailer in behind it. No one will care about the trailer.

For added effect, take off at least 2 wheels and leave it on cinderblocks.

No if he took the wheels off then he would not be able to go through the neighborhood giving away candy, isn't that nice of him. He is so friendly with the children.............

Trust me, the last time I tried that, it didn't go too well!
On my signal...3.. 2...1. FREEZE...FBI...put your hands behind your back. You are now under arrest. Anything you say can and will be used against you....

Several years ago while prowling through my local scrap yard, I came upon this sad little trailer setting amongst the rest of the scrap iron. On the front of the trailer was a rusted brake drum and a plastic 5 gallon bucket full of stainless steel 3/8 bolts, washers, lock washers, with a wing nut on the end of each one. While I was picking through the aluminum pile next to the iron next to the iron, I kept looking at the sad, little trailer. It's base was made from a Chevy truck, I can only assume due to the one hub cap, and made into a dump frame. It's floor was made from an old metal door, with a hole still in it where the door handle originally was. The siding is from an old erector set, and the hitch was welded on by someone who didn't know how to weld. There were no lights, no tail gate, and not much else, but it reminded me of the Christmas tree from the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon. I saw its potential, and bought it for its scrap iron price of about $40, and got the brake drum and bucket of bolts for free. I pulled it home, and started decorating my Christmas tree. BWRR helped me out by installing a new set of lights he had for me, (he must have been thinking of the Christmas tree also by adding Christmas lights.) I reinforced the siding here and there by adding aluminum bar, ran a solid bar across the back, and added some aluminum angle over the bad world on the hitch by drilling through the frame and adding bolts. When it was ready for my test run, I backed up the pickup, and pulled out of the driveway, and she wouldn't budge. After some long thought out thoughts and a few curse words, I found they left in the drive shaft, and I had run bolts through it. After I fixed that, it was ready for its first journey, a round trip of over 1100 miles to an auction in Florida to pick up some crates. My stepdaughter and I drove down, and the next day loaded up the truck and trailer. After an hour or two, we headed out for home, loaded high, and drove about 20' when the trailer jumped of the hitch and hit the ground when I crossed over a speed bump at less than 1 mph. After tightening up the hitch, chains, and certifying it safe for the road, it immediately fell off again. I limped it next door to a hardware store (lucky for me), and to be honest, made some on the spot repairs that I don't remember what they were at this time. It was in the hardware parking lot I took these pictures. The trip home was frightful, but non eventful, until it hopped of and dug into the road again less than 1/4 mile from home. I popped it back on, and drove up the driveway and ended that adventure. I used it again a few time, with no problems at all. So, the morale of this story is, "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown", which means there isn't one...so stop reading.

What can I say, we're a bit anal about maintaining it. It gets washed and waxed at least once a year. Easier at the car wash than at home.

Sounds like the hitch needs adjustment. Google

Trailer rides. They're not just for lawn mowers ;)http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn165/mitunnelrat/20161230_115710_zpsaun97f0p.jpg (http://s304.photobucket.com/user/mitunnelrat/media/20161230_115710_zpsaun97f0p.jpg.html)
My nephews are coming over today and I've been promising promising the one I'd find some projects to work on together. So today I have a new battery charging, awaiting install, and 4 new tires to put on the 4 wheeler.

I've also got some sea foam for that generator I picked up a while back. We'll run that through as well.

Well, there's something ya don't hear everyday. Kids that want to work and get their hands dirty on projects. You keep up the great work "Uncle" they will remember you when that one thing you taught them happens, and it comes in handy and saves their butt.

He's a good kid. Reminds me a lot of me at that age. I'm not going to get too deep on what and why else I think he needs a mentor on an open forum, but he does.

Today he learned that things do not always go as planned. My little gennie needs an air filter and a bit more carb cleaning, but has proven to run, so that was a partial success. The quad? Eh, not so much. The extra tires that came with it were all kinds of wrong, and the replacement battery I bought was too. Lol. Happens sometimes, I suppose. I didn't think 1/8" extra height would matter. It did. There's room for it in the tray, but getting it there is a different story. 1 ea. return and 1 ea. stock battery purchase pending my return from the woods this weekend.

I may try a CL swap on the tires and rims for the size I need.
