Looking forward to it. Have some new gear I need to test out and it should provide all sorts of good thread material for the website.

Weather looks great.

Hammock master-race about to be all up in this.

We were supposed to go last week but it was going to rain buckets so we postponed it. Have fun.

Heavy rains, wet equipment, no fire, cold and uncomfortable. So what part of fun was that. No i find misery is optional, thank you.

Cold and raining is THE time to test your gear AND skills.

Weather is just weather. Rain, wind, and snow is just something else to deal with. I would rather deal with any of them as opposed to high temps and high humidity.

Our drill sgts told us "Its not rain, its liquid sunshine"

The other was always "If its not raining, its not training"

Sigh... It still sucked no matter how much you tried to psyc yourself.

Test equipment in the cold, check, in the rain, check, in the snow, check...... I buy the best I can afford and test it. It doesn't mean I have to like it. Liquid sunshine that is like pissing on my back and telling me it is raining. No thanks, I have found misery is optional thank you. By the way remember your skills will rust in the rain.......

Now since when did you become sugar? Otherwise you don't melt. :)

My mama used to call me sugar so I must melt............

So since I missed out before I'm going back out again this weekend.........it may rain and then again it may not...

Just finished up a recent camping trip in the mountains of NC in September... Have another couple of trips planned between now and april of '17... Cold is the best time for camping!

Im looking for a TALL mummy bag that will go to 20deg, I want to mod it for peapod/cacoon cover on a hammock. Then I can early winter (like nov and dec).

Is it just me, or has he not been around since he left for camping 2+ weeks ago? I thought it was supposed to be a weekend trip???

Maybe he sprained his typing finger...

Wife and I just got back from Hyatt camping up on the coast. It was tough but someone had to do it, either me or the pool boy.....

6'6" tall enough?

WM's inhouse brand of field gear goes under the name Ozark Trail. The "Everest" variant IIRC goes down to 20 degrees, and is 78" top to bottom, and a mummy cut. $35, again IIRC.
