Ice Fishing

starting to do a little more of it, and thought we should have a dedicated thread for some pics, tricks, and techniques.

If nothing else, we northerners can make them southerners jealous!

Went out last weekend onto 'the big windy' aka Lake Winnipeg.

Eight of us ended up fishing together, and we kept six walleye each, and let go at least that many again.
The weather was unseasonally warm, so it was quite slushy on the ice, and that also caused some pretty heavy fog.

btw, we keep the window's rolled down a little while travelling, to ensure escape for when/if the truck breaks through... but that only happens a few dozen times a year, it all is good!

Sniper T, that is definitely on my bucket list!!! :) The wife's mom lives in Appleton, WI and if we can get up there before the lake thaw, there's a guy that will take me ice fishing for perch.

Snipper, I sent you a private message last week, but I guess it didn't go through. I'm going to have to pass. I've been really sick the past month. Flu and Bronchitis, even broke a rib from coughing so much. I'm still fairly weak. I really did want to go...maybe next year.
