He's such a cutie Pie. Congrats but Sorry about the older dog. I know it will hurt when he/she goes.

I love your puppy.........all animals mostly, but gotta take care of the family pets.

We have been dealing with this "war wound" here lately. More like NASCAR near as I can figure. (long story) There was no time for me to play SHTF surgeon, and I wasn't experimenting on my dog. He wasn't bleeding out, clean wound, puncture/tear, hauled ass to the vet. He stitched him up, no problems. Currently doing fine and getting up to speed, he's young, 5yrs.

Loosing your dog sucks, lost mine this year. It took me 10 years to get over my last one. I guess I should have gotten a puppy like you.

Poor little fella started with diarrhea, and he was getting skinny. Wife took him to the vet and the vet says he has coccidia (not sure what it is), but he said antibiotics and extra food and he will be fine.

So "old Dog" will be around to teach young dog new tricks?

Yeah, just getting very slow. She can still chase a car if it comes up, but other than that she rarely gets up.

Coccidia is just a parasite. He'll be on meds for a week or so, and then fine. Keep the other dogs (and him) away from his poop. He's going to be dumping the parasites all over the place, and well... dogs sometimes eat poop. Other dogs can/will get infected.

Make sure he's staying hydrated.

He is doing much better now, starting to put some weight on. He is always hungry.

OK, old dog, sick puppy, got it......whew I was starting to get a little mixed up. Glad to hear the runt's going to start growing into them paws now. Now as far as the old girl goes, she can still bark and growl I'm sure, she can still alert you and the family as to who's comin.

She is still capable of guarding, and will still get up and chase any threat. She is just very slow to get up when there is no threat, and she does not get up often. Just lays around in the house all day.

LBG???????????????

She used to go and check on things regularly, but not only if she hears something and barks at it for a while.
