lol... break through the ice in the winter, fully parka'd and these methods are your best friends! Tried... tested... and true!

I've never had my hands behind me, but hands full of gear = same thing.

When the water is at/below freezing, pause in the crouch to acclimate.

If through the ice, pause in the crouch to look up and find the hole! especially in water where there is a current!!
