Recent gelogical events around the Ring of Fire lead me to believe California is going to get the BIG JOLT soon. In the last few months we have seen moderate earthquakes in South America along the Pacific coast, in Central America, many clusters of smaller yet significant quakes at the southern and northern ends of the San Andreas fault here in California. The volcanic eruptions in Hawaii as well as quakes in asia indicate geological unrest.

So what does this ant do?

--Continue to build the water supply.

--Getting a little more physically fit, I have dropped about 20 pounds in the last 6 months.

--Evaluate the food storage and tried to "plug some holes" in the preps

--Rotated the stored fuel supplies so that I have enough gasoline to move several hundred miles

--improved the home security system

--made improvements in our home first aid kit as well as those in the vehicles

I have not been on much recently. It is funny that a good friend once told me that once I retired I would be so busy I would wonder how I ever had time to work. A true prophet that man is! Though my posts have been scarce, we have been fairly busy with our preps.

Good points for everyone to ponder. I too have lost 20 lbs and feel so much better. It's the little things that add up.

Yeah, the shop I was working at, the owner closed it, he'd had enough. So, I was kind of forcefully retired, but it will be temporary.
Closed it Dec of '16. I've spent all the time since busting my ass, mostly on a complete house renovation.
Almost done.
We move to the country, and start homesteading.

Interesting that less than six hours after I made the orginial post to this thread we had a 4.5 quake near the southern end of the San Andreas. It was near a place called Cabazon. It is near Palm Springs.

We had a 4.2 at the geysers on Wednesday. We have lots up there. One thing people are starting to look at is volcanic activity or its potential. Lots of potential here but I think there is more of a chance of a large earthquake. I worry more about that.

Well, at least God is making more land in Hawaii. ;) Might be a while before you can move out there though.

My son and family just moved to Hawaii on Tuesday. They will be learning a business that is under sole propritership of my DIL's uncle. AFter about two years he plans to turn it over to them. Lots more details to it, but a great opportunity AND they made the move to get out of this once great state of California.

They are quite a distance from the current active volcano on east side of Hawaii, they are on the west side of Maui and winds tend to take all the bad air away. Nevertheless, the ring of fire appears to be more active these days than in any time in my memory.
