Hi all, sorry haven't been on as regular as in the past. May not be on too much as I maybe facing hand surgery. Last Thursday had to take the cats to the vet for their shots. Miss Chloe got in to her kennel , no prob, she was going to visit her buddy, (the vet tech who sits them)the problem came when I hefted her while she was in the kennel, She weighs about 14 lbs now. base of my thumb cracked/popped but didn't pay attention, just thought joints were cracking again. Short story,DH had to take me to "ready" care yesterday, Sunday. Turns out I may have torn the tendon and ligaments in the base of my thumb. Am in a new style brace and have an appt with surgeon Thursday. Pray I don't need surgery. I am right handed and am ticked off because ,we need to get the apples put up and I am now pretty useless until this thing gets healed. Really cool brace though, heat it up in microwave and it molds to your arm, almost like a cast.It can go in the shower with you just have to loosen it and dry the inside on your arm with hair dryer on low and remold it.God bless to all and have a safe and productive fall.

Good luck with a speedy recovery.
My wife has had carpal tunnel done to both wrists, about 10yrs ago. Couple yrs ago, they had to go back and redo one, and fix some issue at the base of her thumb. She had a "moldable" brace like that.

Well NO surgery,YEAH!!, It's just a bad sprain. Am still wearing the brace to bed and most of the day. Gets sweaty so I have to take it off and "air out" LOL. I go back to see him next Wednesday but as of this morning , thumb doesn't hurt and I can move it with out pain. Thank you all for the good thoughts and prayers.

Just remember, "No Brain No Pain, you don't think about it, it don't hurt" This is where the ADD comes in! Hope you get well soon!

AM doing okay Shame on me I haven't worn the brace/splint all day, haven't had a problem (yet). Just got back from the Expo, talked to one of the co coordinators and she was pissed off. I had met her at the one couple of weeks ago. About half the venders that booked tables were no shows today.I was disappointed but the ones that did show up were great. I won one of the door prizes, a personal water filter, like a Life Straw. Found out we didn't do anything wrong with the salad green seeds , just too much rain this year per the ARK lady. She also lost a bunch of seeds due to the rain and she said powdery mildew. The ARK ladies do Survival /Heirloom seeds "vaults. So now I don't feel too bad about not being able to save the seeds. Got a packet of painted pony beans to try next year from them. Found out they are in Traverse City, about 2 hours away from me. Even DH is looking over their seed list for next year.

BR,
We've always done a vegetable garden but for the last few years, crap kept happening (son 1 as you know) so the garden got set aside. Now we are trying to get back into it but with his anklyospinosis (arthritis of the spine) and my bad knee it's been tough to keep as active as we once were. We is falling apart, HAHAHAHA! Just pray nothing else happens with the kids and grands from now on.

FYI, LadyHK sends her love. We have both been a couple of "crips" after the floor work. But we will prevail, we always do. Just remember "Pain is your bodies way to let you know you're still alive" We are alive! Prayers for the kids, hope everyone is doing well. Don't think we'll be putting in a garden till next year, it's not on the priority list yet.

Know what ya means, DH and I were "out of commission" and feeling VERY alive after we put the basement back together after it flooded. Hugs to her (and you). Kids doing ok, they are in Boston with dad having a blast for fall break. We'll be seeing them this Christmas.
