Here is a book on survival. I haven't had time to read much yet. But what I have is decent. I have another of his books and he does have pretty good ideas.
He was also on the show dual survival for a time.

I tend to go thru mine before we take a trip. Just to make sure I have what I want in it. I try and update foods and such a. Couple times a year.
