My doctor told me that insurance now pays for an upper chest scan and asked if I would mind getting one . Told him fine by me. Got told by him when I went back in that they found a growth on my right adrenal gland .
He set me up with Dr. Kelly who was a surgeon in the Air Force in the sand box . Its seems that scan proof reads you right down to your family jewels . He showed wife and I the scan of it from different angles and said it looked to be 2.35 centimeters. Told him to schedule and take it out.This was early August .
The nearest date was Sept. 17th. Went in then and he took growth & adrenal gland out. But once he got in there he saw it too big to bag and bring out the small instrument hole. So he cut me on right side just under rib cage moved my liver out of the way and whatever else and brought it out that way . The results were benign and the actual size was 9.5 x 3.15 x 1.49 centimeters or for us old guys 3.74 x 3.15 x 1.49 inches.
Had to spend overnight in hospital . No sleep . Nurses asked why and I told them I'm out of my element . They must of asked my oldest daughter before she came to my room because later in the day the nurse said they understood and pointed to my ball cap that was with my clothes she brought in.
4 weeks light duty ended the 17th. Not really any pain to speak of . Ibuprofen did the trick.
Now to catch up on my to do list. Converting the old covered chicken coop yard into a small wood working shop ; all machines on mobile stands . Old garage work shop is now becoming the old man's total man cave . Already finished the Goddess' Sheeky She Shed.
