    10 best post SHTF vehicles

As chosen by Car and Driver. I kinda thought it was a funny article worth sharing....

When the apocalypse comes, be it a viral holocaust, rampant diabetes, or a plague that wipes out coffee crops, those on a month-long camping trip atop Mt. McKinley will return to face new challenges. Who will tend the farms? Plow the driveway? Empty the septic tank? The first step will be driving to the closest Wal-Mart to forage for canned goods, batteries, ammo, and Ho Hos.

They all have good points, but none of them have all the points.

Some nice choices. Not sure any of them would be one I would choose.

Surprised the Toyota 4Runner didn't make the cut. People seem to hold on to those like they are gold. From what I've seen of a buddies of mine they are solid, offer actual off-road capabilities and carry a fair amount of gear.

Here's my favorite bug out vehicle... and no gas required..generates its own.jimbo.jpg

His name is Z-Rainamus, The Arabian wonderhorse. That picture was taken of us in Colorado about 10 years and 50 less pounds ago for me.

They're only about 50 miles away from me. I may have to go up and check it out up close and personal. I'm betting it costs an arm and a leg.

You can always buy an armored vehicle. Look them up online. And I mean a regular vehicle that is armored, not a tank.

Yes, I've been thinking about that too for a while.
