    Weed Explosion

Well, when i got back from my latest trip I found a weed explosion in my yard. The rain had done its wonderful growing thing and I have a jungle in the front yard, so I'll have to wait 'til it's dry enough to mow. But in the meantime I'll be harvesting some edibles for wilted malo salad with mandarin orange garnishes.

    The giant malo plant

    Smaller and tenderer malo

and mandarin oranges waiting to be picked

My youngest daughter loves all oranges, if we were neighbors she would be your best friend. Good luck with that salad.
Be ready now, you won't have that chance later.

Those look so good. I'm hoping the apple trees we have will give us more than four apples this year(and we get them before the deer do)

I didn't put in or take any pictures of the purselaine (sp?) but I have it as well growing wild. Territorial Seeds sells it in their gourmet greens section. And I'll be trimming back my prickly pear so I'll have nopales as well.
