    My EDC (slowz1k)

I needed a break from my daily IT duties at work and thought I would dump my EDC contents on the floor of my office, and grab a few pics to share with you guys. Everyones needs and preferences are different... This is a system that works for me and my environment, and has proven itself effective for over three years now. Suggestions and comments are always welcome:
First up is what I call PEDC, or Personal Every Day Carry. These are the things that on my person anytime I'm dressed and out of the house. (Not pictured is my Springfield 1911 which is almost always on my hip)

Blackberry Bold dressed in an Otterbox
    CRKT M16-04Z
    Paracord Braclet
    G-Shock Atomic Solar
    Edge Neck Knife
Photon LED Flashlight and Gerber Shard on key ring
    wallet
The chart underneath the wallet is usually in the wallet itself, but I felt it worth mentioning that its a US Silver coin conversion chart that I printed and laminated. If you can estimate the current cost of silver, It will put you in the ballpark of the melt value for various US coins.

Next is my Bag. It goes everywhere with me. It's a cheap Chinese knockoff of the Maxpedition Fatboy. It's held together pretty well over the years and has only needed some minor stitching repairs on the lining.

This angle shows a small compass, an LED light, and the side pockets that house my first aid kit (Brown pouch), various pens, sharpeners, knives... as well as a ziplock with some TP

Here are the contents removed from one side pocket and the top zippered pocket. From left to right:
    3 pens
    1 sharpy
    1 mech pencil
    sunscreen
    diamond rod sharpener
    cheap lock blade
    Fresnel Lens
    P-51 Can opener
Thumb drive with pertinent info and case
    LED light from main zipper
(Some loose change at the top)

    Continued:::::::::::

The Fisrt Aid pouch is a cheesey double pocket camera pouch I found for a few bucks at Big Lots
    The back pocket contents:
    Ant-acids
    Various sized band-aids
    small lighter
    bismuth tabs
    benadryl
    2 tweezers
    1 disposable eye drop
    FA Tape
    and a JetScream whistle

    Front pocket contents:
    3 neosprin type ointment
    2 Burn-gel
    4 hydrocortisone
    2 Blistex
    2 hand sanitizers
    some anti-bacterial wipes
    and a bunch of Ibuprofen

The main pocket of the bag usually holds my lunch, digital camera, and maybe a book.

The CCW pocket and Outer Zippered pocket contents in no particular order:
HP22 with extra mag (Very inexpensive auto that after some work has become a reliable little shooter)
    Ziplock bags
    30' of paracord braided
    small spool of SS wire
    2 lighters
    1 magnesium fire starter
    monocular
    gerber multitool
    Brinkman LED flashlight
4 sheets of toxin detection paper

Well that's about it. Again, questions, and/or comments welcome. I'm always looking for new and better ideas.

    Thanks for looking!

I... Am impressed. You've made excellent utilization of that bag without overpacking it.

When you say lining, do you mean the storm collar for the main compartment? My versipack is splitting in the corners there.

I had one of those little Wedge knives. I lost it out fishing one night. Very nice little knives.

That silver conversion chart is an awesome idea. I must have one now.

Same for the Otterbox. I should have considered something like that before.

Thanks for the review. I got some good ideas from it.

By the way your EDC looks you must be an engineer. Am I right? I'll bet so because of the redundancy in your preps. (wink)
And thats not a bad thing!

Mine is very similar to yours, except my full size is in the bag, and the pocket pistol is in my pocket unless carrying my kahr.
Common sense is so rare these days, it should be re-classified as a super power.

I also like what you've done. Not a big bag but you have some good gear choices.

I noticed you said lunch.....that was the only things I would have added. A couple granola bars, maybe a bottled water. I'm sure you probably already have those handy though.
Be ready now, you won't have that chance later.
