    Yard Sale Score: Coleman Stove

Anybody else hit any yard sales this past weekend? My wife and I hit about 7 different YS' within 10 miles of our house. The weather was perfect.

My "Find of the day" A VCG 60's era Coleman dual burner stove, for $15.00. A Coleman Dual fuel lantern in GC (missing globe, mantles, and cap nut) and one full 1lb propane bottle, both for $2.00.

I probably coulda talked the guy down to $10.00 or $12.00 on the stove, but I lost my poker face when he said $15.00. I kind of suffer from a camp stove fetish. I can't stop buying them.

Can't have too many of them. I have what looks like the same exact model stove, my parents bought that we used when I was growing up.

    Sweet!!!

The last globe that I bought was bought at Wally-World and I'm not 100% sure that they still stock them or not but it's worth a look.

Excellent score. I can see those being handy in all sorts of situations from run-of-the-mill camping to post natural disaster to full blown SHTF events.

    Thanks for sharing it.

Yup... As far as I'm concerned when it come to a cooking or lighting without being taped into wall or burning wood Coleman gas is THE way to go until you run out of gas. One gal of gas will burn longer than 20lbs of propane at a third of the cost. I will say it's not as hot or bright as propane but it's more efficient and it has a lower signature than wood burning. The only signature it produces is the smell of whats cooking. Our next go to after the gas runs out is our solar oven and kerosene lamps then candles and fire then just fire and a cup of coffee in the morning.
