    BioLite CampStove - BioLite Stove

This is a pretty cool idea... The greenies might be onto something for your survival kit. It's not super compact, but a really unique, and multi purpose little stove. Uses very little fuel (sticks) and converts heat to electricity to charge your phone, gps, led lights etc. they also make a full sized stove. Kinda expensive, but pretty cool
Common sense is so rare these days, it should be re-classified as a super power.

Wow your right, Impressive! In the video he didn't show the battery charger aspect of it so I'm wondering if it was mainly designed just to run the fan.

At 2w to 5w.....you are going to have to make a lasagna from scratch to charge your phone.....I got a 6w solar charger.....it takes over 1/2 a day to charge my Samsung GII to 70%.

    Cool concept though....

Above is the first prototype and at the moment they are taking preorders so it hasn't been released yet. The only thing that I can see that might be an issue is it looks like the size of twigs needs to be small so tending the fire would need be often and the only way to do so is through the top so you would have to remove the pot to do so. I still like it though... so far. It's going to be interesting to see the reviews after it's released.

They say 20 minutes would get an avg 60 minute talk time on a cell phone, so yes, not exactly a nuclear reactor.

    That's pretty neat!

Be watching for that in the future!
Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

    Cat's are food... not friends!

If you're going to fight, then fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp into Noah's arc... and brother, it's starting to rain.
