Definately not something that is 'required' or 'necessary'... but kind of nice on a hot summer day.
Atomic Watermelon
grab a mid sized SEEDLESS melon and cut a 2-3" hole in one side of it. (Lay it on the counter, and see if it has a sweet spot to sit stable, then cut the hole on the top side). Muck around inside with an immersion blender, or a potato masher if you don't have one. Depending on the size of your melon, pour in a pint or quart+ of vodka. put the lid back on and toss it in the fridge for 24 hours. Next day, serve with large bore straws.
You can also add strawberries or other fruit to top it off after the vodka.
Killer Gummi-bears.
throw a handful of gummibears into a tupperware container. pour in enough tequila (or alc. of choice) to cover. let sit on the counter for 2 days, shaking/stirring occasionally. They will swell up to about twice the original size. Serve with toothpicks (they're wet and sticky)
