    I first saw these 17 years ago while doing some 4x4 car camping in southern Utah with my kids, I just had to have one... I found a nice one for sale for 6,500 but didn't want spend that kind of money. I've kicked myself in the ass ever since and after seeing this thread I'm sitting here all bloodied up.

    Yeah, and they fit in places unimogs don't. A unimog is big, the pinzgauer carries as much weight and has the same type of axles. It uses a air cooled engine, so less things to go wrong.

    Me too, they're really cool, but the driveline is pretty complicated
    Common sense is so rare these days, it should be re-classified as a super power.

    Not really. All the drive shafts are protected, and it has portal axles, but other than that is is pretty straight forward. Manual gearbox and front and rear diff locks just like the unimog.
