I got a big oak tree with a huge bee hive in the bottom of it. I had to cut the grass near it yesterday and the bees kept running into me, never stung me, but I got the message.

Bought an old Poulan chain saw, OLD... dont have any plastic or a chain brake! Used it to help a friend clear a firing line on his home range (which I now have privy to), had trouble and then had the carb rebuilt for $40 by a guy down the street that does small engine repair. It runs like a scalded ape. I put a new chain on it until I can master sharpening.. anywho, it cuts really good for a small (14") saw.

Might be the gateway to a shelter & firewood if I need it. Need to store (1) extra chains (2) bar oil (3) oil mix (4) stablized gas

Not an actual picture, but mine looks identical

I used to have the exact same saw... scalded ape is a good description! lol.

My stihl is now like a shrewdness of same apes... but its of a different caliber.

    Congrats on a great saw!!

Just added about 30 pounds of goose to the freezer! Cooking up the tenderloins tonight, making a couple pounds of Jerky tomorrow, got 8 pounds in different marinades/dryrubs in the freezer, and the rest naked.

    yum yum yum

Harvested the last of my squash (butternut, acorn, buttercup, spaghetti), probably 50 total. 20 watermelons, a few cantaloupes, a bunch of peppers, the last of our tomatos.
Also went to my parents house to get the tater plow so we can dig our taters. While up there I sharpened a bunch of my knives and two axes. Mom also gave me an old model 333 meat grinder that my grandparents used for years. I had forgot all about the grinder, I recall crankin it when papaw killed hogs to make sausage.

Pulled in the last of the tomatos, cabbage, corn, watermelons squash and cucumbers, have to dig up my potatoes next.
I found one of the local resale stores my wife frequented has a ton of oil lamps and cast irons that I want to go ahead and snap up.

Let it the shell dry up well. Then just keep it in my basement. I wish I had a root cellar. Mine end up drying out too much by spring time. I'm gonna eat more this fall and winter so there won't be many left over.
I've never tried canning any, or dehydrating either. If I get time may have to try one or both of those.
