What have you done to prep this week?

Added another deer to the mix. Got a nice little buck yesterday morning!

I went out and bought a lot of flat iron in various lengths and other hardware items to begin my more serious phase of home security. Also a pair of blackout curtains. And I got a humongous truckload of firewood!!! Wait til the hubby sees what he has to unload when he gets home lol!

The Mail lady dropped off two more bucks that her boys shot the other day, got them alld ressed out, about 170 pounds of venison! Working on cutting up jerky as we speak, and canning more turkey.

I took Lunchbox up to the house I'm buying in Michigan so he could see where it is and how to get there. We also walked the property and assesed defending it - and he decided if he ends up evacing there he wants to live in the barn which is fine because I have discovered that he snores.

Asked Evolver to pull down my tub of spices. Need to refill some jars in the pantry and make my annual end of the year order.

It has been slow for me because I am diverting money for Christmas presents, but I did get some more kerosene for the space heater and wood for the fireplace this week. I also FINALLY convinced my husband that we need really cut down on the spending and get the bills paid off. I wouldn't say he is on board yet, but he finally said that he understands why I want what I want (like guns), and I have noticed that he is much more aware of the news. Just last month, he had no idea what I was talking about when I would bring up the day's news. Now he tells me that he has already heard when I bring something up. Priceless!

Sniper, I find it both fortunate and unfortunate that I don't need the extension cord. It means it doesn't get cold enough for my current car to warrant it, but that also means I don't have a diesel pick up yet!

madpiper, I'll give you a premature welcome to what I feel is one of the greatest states in the union! If you're comfortable giving a slightly more defined location I'd be more than happy to see what I know and can answer about the area or laws here - if you ever have any questions.

well, I don't have a diesel, and my truck will start at -50. but it's hard on it. So once it starts hitting -30 I like to plug her in.
