Good Vodin. We spent most of the afternoon out yesterday putting a roller system in to open the chicken door from outside the pen, plus installing the door and slide system. The sweat bees and flies were eating us alive. Just glad we didn't get the deer flies yet. Anyway got the door/slide installed and adjusted where it works easily.

Still picking blueberries, but now we are fighting the turkeys. I've seen a hen with a bunch of young ones (6-10) in the neighbors field. It's getting time to run a electric fence around the garden to keep them out. Also put up 1/2 bushel of peaches, had a hard time staying out of them.

Picked up 1600 CCI Mini Mags in .22.

I've also spent some time this week looking into solar systems. I need to run power out to the shop and I'm considering using solar for that. It will cost more, but if SHTF I will still be able to do some of the things that I would need to do. It would be built with the capability of adding more panels to increase output.

^ Those .22's will do a nice number on the turkeys too! and fill the freezer to boot!

Just got done helping my wife can applesauce. We used Gala, Jazz and Red Delicious apples. Mixed em all together, mushed em up and canned em. They will last till the end of the year (we will eat by then) and looking forward on having the leftovers (not enough to fill another jar) tonight.

We canned some pineapple jam today, harvested some onions, and continue to water the garden to try and keep it alive.

I also went out and picked up 2000 more Winchester M-22 40gr rounds, a large bottle of Hoppe's #9, 2 sizes of bulk patches, and a couple of bore brushes. A couple of freeze dried meals to sample, and Tom Brown's book "Field Guide to Wilderness Survival".

Ammo, planning for some additional goodies this week.
Common sense is so rare these days, it should be re-classified as a super power.

Getting one of the following today:
    Springfield XD 9 subcompact
    S&W M&P 9 subcompact
    Kahr CW9
    Glock 19

While it will be "my" birthday present it will be something that the wife and 14yr old daughter are comfortable holding. I'm ok with that oddly enough.

Started building on cabin, still getting cucumbers, maters, peppers from garden. Dryed herbs, watering garden and if no rain tonight will still be watering. Can,t do a rain dance cause roof is off now. Made wasp sting spray from jewelweed. Am armed and ready for them now.
    I am me,
    I am free,
    You can not change me.

If you try, you will see,
    That I am unchangeable,
    Because I am me.
