With the way things are these days I just have a hard time recommending it to kids or anybody else for that matter. I'll support him whatever he chooses though. We'll see here pretty soon I guess!!

My nephew is switching from going to the fire academy to police academy in OKC. I have the same concerns.

AK, I got a feeling hes gonna do what hes gonna do, with or without your support. Either academy he attends, he needs your support and Im sure you going to be there but yeah, I get the concern. LEO is a pretty shitty line of work now days.. always has been but I honestly think its gotten a lot harder over the years.

Got the new chicken coop built and transferred the chicks over to it.
Started changing bags from Winter BOB's to Spring/Summer BOB's,
Started a new BOB for the newest addition to the family*(see below)
Getting ready to head to a new military school down at Ft Bragg for a month, so will be offline a good portion of it.
Bought new speedloaders for my CCW revolver and loaded them up with some of Hornadys best manstoppers.
Did some spring cleaning and going to start with planting here pretty quick this week I think.

*Funny story, so I get a phone call from an old "fun-times friend" (female type) and apparently birth control back in 1999 is only 98.7% effective. So yea... Guess who just found out he has a 16 year old daughter.

That isn't bad, just want to know in case the oil field keep going like it is. I am pretty safe right now, but the company is talking lay offs again.

upgraded one of my 10/22's to a SS 16" 1:9 barrel for subsonic loads, and switched the trigger group out for a 3# volquartsen group. My 458 SOCOM Beast upper should be here next week. Started assembly on a AR15/22 lower. I already have a CMMG upper set aside for it.

I was thinking about a 458 pistol in case a bear tries to mug me. Ok, I just wanna see the fireball from a 7.5" barrel.

It's finally started drying up a little around here. Worked up the garden tonight and laid off two raised beds loaded with compost for my onions. Taking tomorrow off work and gonna do another couple rows for the rest of the onions and leeks. Also gonna plant potatos, cabbage, spinach, carrots, & beets.

Had a couple of trees fall down today in the windstorm, so looks like the next few days are going to be woodcutting days.

Planted lots more strawberries, like a LOT more. Didn't do well last year in a specifically built bed, so I'm gonna do herbs in that one, and I've got 3 whiskey barrels of strawberries. Some are transplants, some new. All doing well in the new location with better shade part of the day.
