    We got GHOSTS!

I went to the local nursery today and while looking around a ghost took over my mind and I ended up taking it home...

    EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!!!

    Naga Bhut Jolokia

I caned some salsa last year that I tried to get XXX hot but it ended up just kinda hot so I'll try cutting up one of these with a fine dice (with rubber gloves on of course) and add some to the salsa after I open it.

Try these extremely hot peppers. They are mostly seed but the skin on them is hot. You need a fire extinguisher near by when you eat them. Birds eye peppers

The Ghost (Naga Bhut Jolokia) comes in at 850.000 scolville and use to be the hottest pepper in the world until the the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion won the title coming in at 1,500,000 scolville.

I like hot, but that is a little too much for me. Man's gotta know his limits after all.

Yesterday I picked one that was about 1'' long, diced half of it up super fine and mixed it into a pint jar of salsa to bring the heat up some and it did the charm! With the amount that I added it introduced a new deep zesty chili flavor to the mix without making it unbearably hot. I still could load up a chip with salsa and enjoy it.

I couldn't get Justa to even try it because of all the food network shows that show grown men crying after eating food with extremely hot sauces made from the ghost chili. lol

So... Two thumbs up on the Ghosts flavor and It's not all about the heat.

It ain't hot enough unless it makes you cry or need bread to take the heat out.
