Our turkey hatched her eggs today.

She had 11 eggs all hatched but one got smashed. So we have 10 new turkeys.

Right on Helo!!! Are you going to name them like... Thanksgiving, Christmas, Pot Pie, Soup, Mason Jar, Jerky, Leftover, Smoke???
You don't need to be the strongest
or the most intelligent to survive
but by having the right tools and
    the adaptability of change
    is where you will prevail.

Yeah she was did a great job. We had every weather extreme you can imagine, freezing some nights, 90's some days, heavy thunderstorms and she hatched 100% of the chicks. Amazing we can't even get those results inside in an incubator. Some days she never left the nest.

Very cool!! I kept turkeys up till last year. They got a bug of some sort and I lost them all. Not that I had a bunch, but 7 was as big a "flock" as I could deal with.

Hope you have many happy returns....lol

Man that sucks. We only have 4 adults right now. 3 males and 1 female. Trying to figure out which 2 males to kill. I think we have about 75 chickens, 20 ducks, and now 14 turkey (counting the babies). I just killed my 2 geese, and I won't be doing them again. Not near the meat as a turkey, and more annoying than any of the other birds. Oh and 2 guinea

My parents actually have the pictures of me, a mere 5 yrs old, being chased by some mean white geese. Mom always said those geese were meaner than her dogs (dobermans and german shepherds) and she was right.

Damn white geese. And clowns.......they still freak me out.
