You get more bacon per can than you do buying it at the store. Cost vs. amount, it actually works out.

Yoders says there is about 3lbs (before cooking) in each can, and i believe it. About 45-50 slices cooked bacon/can.$10.00 A CAN!!!

Buy 3lbs of bacon @ $3.50 - $4.00 a pound. thats $10.50-$12.00 right there.
Now take it home and cook it. Then can it. Gotta buy cans too.
$10 sounds like a pretty good deal.
Like I said before, this is the only kind of bacon we buy, except if Wifey needs some raw bacon for seasoning or wrapping up some grilled goodness.
As far as flavor, it is not Maple flavored it is smoke flavored.

and how does it compare to actual real fresh fried bacon?
When you first take it out of the can it is like well cooked bacon. Very little uncooked fat. You can eat it right out of the can if you want. I like to nuke it for about 10 or 15 seconds and crisp it up a little.
How does it compare? If you didn't see it come out of the can, you would never know it. The only thing you will notice is that it is not the same "brand" that you usually have. Some cans are a little smokier than others. Its not sweet or overly salty. Tastes like the kind of bacon you would put on a BLT.
