Convert any pouch into a tear-away pouch

I've been looking for something like this for a while. No idea if it's worth a damn but it's exactly what I've wanted to convert a few standard pals based pouches into tear-aways.

    Thought I'd pass it along.

    Maxpedition Tear Away Modular Panel

Allows user to quickly remove a pouch from his vest/pack
Contains five (5) rows and three (3) columns of PALS webbing
Detaches and re-attaches quickly with hook and loop
Square 5 x 5 footprint allows pouch positioning in any of 4 orientations
Removable 1 retention strap with buckle provides added security when desired
Oversized pull handle for easy access even with gloved hands
    MOLLE compatible
Attach using two 5” TacTie™ Attachment Straps
If you think that come SHTF you are gonna jock up in all your kit and be a death-dealing one man army, you're an idiot - izzyscout

Its similar enough to my TT tear away panel that I'm sure it would be durable enough for EDC use outside of a firefight. The biggest difference I see is the snaps on mine might aid in better retention, while the stap on Maxpedition's might be more of a liability - at least until I saw it is removable. Since its part of the tear off portion it just struck me as unnecessary/ ineffective for retention purposes, and one more thing to snag and assist in removing the pouch if it isn't connected and/or cinched up tight. My opinion is definitely unqualified in terms of experience on that though, and I have no doubt you'll put it through hard use in training events. I'm looking forward to your review if/when you do so since I still need a couple more myself, and Maxpedition's panel is $5 cheaper than TT's.

It looks like it would hold up. It would be a plus, you can't beat a tear away med pouch.
Be ready now, you won't have that chance later.

Hey Stig, do you own a Proteus? It looks like there's 6 columns on it, so two of these panels would fit side by side on its rear, but the website is saying only 4 columns. I'm wondering if the end columns, though likely off-spec, are wide enough to accommodate malice clips.
