My friend and author, Grayson Hawkins has been kind enough to give me a signed copy of his re-released book to give away to a member of the colony. The book The Extinction Pandemic: A Post Apocalyptic Novel (The Hatchery Compound Book 1) tells of the protagonist Bryce Sloan having the foresight to get the hell out of dodge before the SHTF. Unlike your typical hack em slash em post apocalyptic books, where the hero is weary of other survivors, the story line focuses on rebuilding society and seeking out survivors to do this. Extinction Pandemic also dives into the mental psyche of an ordinary person in seeing how deep down the rabbit hole the hero goes in order to do what he needs to do to protect his family and survive.
