I have used a S&W pen for the past six years and it works well. It is just one facet of plan B. There are some out there which will blend in better and I may go to them. I do not like the fact Smith and Wesson is on the clip and is easy to see if it were to be in my front pocket.

Wouldn't a few moments with an emery board or cloth abate the printing? or if it is engraved or stamped, a few more moments?

I always carry a space bullet pen, but use whatever the hospital provides free - since I go through around 2 pens a month

My wife being a nurse always has a pocket full of pens when she comes home, and I find them when doing the laundry. We probably have close to 1000 in the desk.
