Start a fire with a lemon

Interesting, but I'm not too sure how valuable, given the 'ingredients'

Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

    Cat's are food... not friends!

If you're going to fight, then fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp into Noah's arc... and brother, it's starting to rain.

I think I'll just stick to keeping a 9 volt battery in my bag. If it came down to it I think I would just eat the lemon.

Pennies and nickles would do the same I think. Probably work on any other acidic vegetable or fruit. And yes, a 9v battery or three or four positive to negative taped AAA or AAs would, I think, produce the same results. Coated lint or ordinary cotton balls for tinder.

I've seen copper wool potscrubbers, I wonder if they would work as well if not better by virtue of their lower heating temperature? or is the steel's key to heating its electrical resistance?

Good to see someone thinking outside the box.

I am not convinced it would work the way it is wired up. He connects one side to the other, but not back again. That would break the connection. They should have been staggered in series.

Helo, I think you are forgetting that this guy is starting a fire with a lemon.

I don't think he is firing on all cylinders.
