    Tourniquets

So if you haven't noticed I'm on a medical focus lately.

This website lists a number of tourniquets and their application. I'm familiar with the old style cinch (which I agree are unreliable) and the cats which are my go to.

Can anyone speak to the reliability of the others? I'm out of the loop these days but I eagerly attend any training they offer.

I am involved in the local cub scouts and we just built their first aid kits which got me thinking about my own equipment. So expect a lot of medical based posts from me as I try to improve. I cater to their reduced expectations and understanding but seeing some of the"OLD" items that are donated to us make me think about efficacy.

Some homeopathic is good. Others are just junk. I believe in science, not belief and word of mouth. I'll be posting a lot as I review my setup and it's portability.

Here is the latest list of tested and validated tourniquets: https://books.allogy.com/web/tenant/...-8e8d63343866/

Now, a tourniquet is a handy thing to have if you've been shot, but in a SHTF environment the things that will more likely kill you are fought with soap, and bleach.
