^ exactly what I was thinking. All of that entrance wood looks like it was put in place within the last year. In the pictures it looks like zero signs of weathering.. I assume being where it is, there is no hunting there? around here someone would have stapled a target on there and blasted a bunch of holes in there.
cool site, and thanks for the pics.
The wood looks as it does in the photos. But the bunker has been in place for at least 2 years. As I stated before, this is located on a military installation, out in the training areas, so there are no hunters allowed out there. And as far as somebody pasting targets up and blasting away at them, usually the only people with weapons are the military guys, and those are big machine guns!
RJ, just havin this site running tells me you don't listen to Choctaw very much!
Just that name brings shivers down my spine!!!!
Just got a look at the thread. Too bad it wasn't in your back yard. But again, people can use the intell here for some ideas of their own. Great RECON! Good to know for you if it were necessary you'd need to use it. ON short notice that is. So how far do you have run to get there again? OK good structural designs with the pressure trated lumber and the placstic back to aid as a moisture barrier. That will proplong the life of the lumber a bit more. Hey at least I can see some of my tax money went to work. I'm taking notes..............thanks.
Be safe..............the night is your friend.
