I'm still here and alive. Hanging 36 solar panels tomorrow. Then wire it up and fire it up. I'm afraid to add up the receipts on all the materials I bought just to put it all together. Life is normal, country is FUBAR. Peace Love and no underwear!

I have been sitting on this equipment for 10 years. 48v. system, 24-2vdc deep cycle Trojans 117lbs each. 36 Q-Cell panels 310 watts each. Outback inverter with 3 Charge controllers. I built this around LadyHK, the little person needs lots of power. It will power the shop and the house. The plan is to get it fired up and running the shop. Work the bugs out of it and then run a main wire to the house. Canceled panel hanging today. For some reason I can't find any one way rental cars. I have to drive all the way to Huntsville, Al to pick one up. BS. Need to make a trip and Monday is now toast. I won't have enough time to get it done. Have mowing and bushhoggin to do before I leave as well. So ya deal with it.

48v is a good place to run at. Lower current, smaller wiring, less copper, less funding required

You funny Rambo. I will have to add this up. Lumber, underground wiring, nuts bolts, washers, lock washers, wire?....don't get me started. Lugs for wiring, at's another story. But it's been fun so far. Labor, yup! Keep ya posted. Can't do pictures anymore right?

Wanted to do the same solar panels. Did some research and found out that there would be no savings due to costs and life expectancy. Stopped right there. Unless you live off-grid, there isn't much advantages.
