sitting back with a cold one, and listening to the pop, pop, pop, of the snap lids on a batch of fresh canning. Never fails to bring a smile to my face.

what little thing brings you happiness?

That same exact sound! Listening to our chickens cackle when they are eating some scraps we took them. maybe my two favorites, watching a beautiful sunset or sitting around a bonfire and watching it burn.

Now that my woodshed is built... it is time to start filling it. This fall is going to be filled with bonfires (tops/branches). I too, love that experience!

Happiness is the simple things.....the sound of my 3 little girls giggling and playing together (instead of fighting, which seems to be what they are usually doing), a good cup of coffee (Sonic makes perfect coffee, eat your heart out Starbucks!), brand new socks, still fluffy and soft.....and yes, I would agree with the aforementioned bonfire, but add it's better under the stars, and perfected with someone playing guitar, who hopefully can harmonize.

Oh yeah, most of all, happiness is a finalized divorce ;)

Happiness is having my grand children all together with the family around me safe and sound. Happiness will be when I can FINALLY retire!

the list is long. just adding to what has been said already. and in no particular order.

a child's laugh
" " smile
the smell/taste of perfectly smoked meat
a 5 shot 'ragged 1 hole' at 100 yds. with a scoped .22 LR think dime sized
puppies
silencers nothing like 'quiet'
the sound of a good dog baying in the distance
shooting a 50 cal for the first time
singing in the shower
walking around naked in the backyard ( not a weirdo, just like the sun and privacy fence. and not often )
seeing the garden spot sprout
easy falling rain - the smell
catching snowflakes on your tongue
woodworking
tieing a knot

Happiness is silence and darkness. They both relax as you hear the sounds of the night and await the morning dawn to a new day.

Happiness, for me, can be several things:

Sleeping in a hammock while it rains on my tarp

Snuggling my wife when I turn in the night

Seeing my daughter sleeping in her bed as I leave for work

Having my daughter come out to greet me when I come home from work

When my dog snuggles up against me to sleep with me

Sitting there, looking at 10 spam cans for 7.62x39 while sipping a bottle of Jack (waiting on that one to become reality)

Knowing the genset runs well when the lights flicker and sleet is falling hard

Knowing the dog sleeps light, while I sleep sound

My wife's smile

My daughter's smile

The moment I drift to sleep, but dont know it

Hiking a hard section, and sitting down to rehydrate and enjoy the accomplishment

Seeing snow come over the next mountain

A walk on a foggy morning, before anyone else wakes up

Friday, when my direct deposit goes in and I know I can get more groceries (honestly)

The smell off gun powder from your just fired weapon (too many years in the service, sorry)

There are others... above is just off the top of my head.

Soaking in the tub with a pitcher of margaritas and a good magazine.

Finding something you need to buy a lot of on clearance and you have coupons.

Checking off the largest item on your to-do list.

Paying off the credit cards.

Happiness is:

Having my morning coffee sitting on my screen porch with peace and quiet to start my day

Playing with my grandsons and taking them fishing

Walking the beach with Songbird and watching the sunsets

Swimming or diving with the dolphins

Sitting in my boat while reeling a top water bait and then the sound and sight of a Redfish or Largemouth bass eat my bait

just to name a few.....................

Welcome link. great post to start.

I make a point, of everyday... no matter how horrible our collective days are, I won't let it rest until I get a good laugh and a genuine smile from my wife. That is what tells me that bullshit aside, all is right in my world!

Welcome to the forum, and don't forget to introduce yourself, in case I missed it.
