    Thompson's Snares

guys, do any of you have experience with Thompson's snares? i have a hunting/tracking/live trap background, but have never snared anything. just looking for another skill to learn.

i read/saw somewhere about snaring squirrels on a set and was curious. seems like an item that takes up very little space and would be effective.

I have a few kits, like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Survival-Kit-T.../dp/B004YMXOWG

One is in my snowmobile, one in my quad, still in the bags, never been opened.

Typically I just use standard snare wire, quicker and easier, and I always have some of that on me or in my bags
Give a man fire, and he'll be warm for a day!
Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life!

    Cat's are food... not friends!

If you're going to fight, then fight like you're the third monkey on the ramp into Noah's arc... and brother, it's starting to rain.
